About Us
These are the two beautiful reasons why I started OneGreenSnail.com: My Big Girl and my Little Boy! (Yes, even a nine year old can use the Maya!) I used a sling with my older child and am now using it with my baby boy, and I honestly can't imagine life without it. It is so empowering to move around with my hands free and to have my baby so close. It is so wonderful for every stage, from infant to toddler. My husband and I loved using it soon after our son was born because we felt strangers were less likely to try and touch a new baby who was snug next to one of us. As our baby gets older, it's great for hip-carrying and wonderful for when he's asleep and needs to be carried around. Additionally, I loved it when I took my big girl out as a toddler and I was able to carry her on my back, hands free!
I have truly seen how "wearing" your baby calms both mom and baby. This is important because studies suggest carried babies cry less and are more content. They spend more time in a state of quiet alertness - the optimal state for learning.
